Typical Habitat : | Freash water swamps and marshy paddocks. |
Distribution : | Common to northern and eastern Australia and south western W.A. Subspecies bellus is endemic, only recorded in Australia. |
Migration : | Resident / breeding at Horseshoe Bay Lagoon, Magnetic Island. Most common during the wet season. Main breeding season is all year and variable. |
