Growth Habit :Spreading prostrate annual or biennial herb, with branches up to 60cm long on a woody taproot, stems covered in silky hairs, especially when young.
Fruiting Season :Flowering period. October to March.
Description :Has woody burrs, with 5 segments, each with 2 large spreading spines and 2 small spines, all about 12mm across. Has caused stock deaths, the poison involved hasn't been identified.
Distribution :All mainland states, in most tropical and subtropical regions on the planet. Likes waste places, holding yards and overgrazed degraded pastures.
