Description : | Shell 45cm. Brown to dark brown, large adults are black. Young have a serrated rear edge to the shell. Short neck, adults have rounded bumps. Eats aquatic animals, carrion, algae and vegetation. Lays up to 15 eggs, which hatch after 150 days. |

Distribution : | Coastal areas from Derby W.A. across the Top End of N.T. and coastal QLD to Marybough, except tip of Cape York. |
