Growth Habit :Annual or perennial herb up to 1m tall, clump forming with woody rootstock, stems four angled, usually purple in colour.
Fruiting Season :Flower period. October to April.
Description :Introduced. Spread rapidly by seed, its presence indicates a past disturbance and is encouraged by overgrazing. Used medicinally for several ulcers and dysentery.
Distribution :All coastal areas of QLD., and N.T., common from Rockhampton northwards.
