Description : | Edible fruit, can be roasted, also eaten by Cockatoos and Goats. Preparation from inner bark used for boils, burns, leprosy sores and general sickness. Bark used as a hot poultice for sores and wounds. Heated leaves used for wounds, stone fish stings. |
Distribution : | Common local species. Across northern Australian and down the east coast to Fraser Island, in open forest and woodlands. |
Weed Status : | Heated leaves also used for headache. Preparation from pulped leaves and stems used as a cure for sores and ulcers. Infusion from small roots applied to prickly heat and chicken pox. |
