Plant Form :shrub/tree
Growth Habit :Small straggly tree 4-10m tall, deciduous.
Fruiting Season :November to March.
Description :Edible fruit, can be roasted, also eaten by Cockatoos and Goats. Preparation from inner bark used for boils, burns, leprosy sores and general sickness. Bark used as a hot poultice for sores and wounds. Heated leaves used for wounds, stone fish stings.
Distribution :Common local species. Across northern Australian and down the east coast to Fraser Island, in open forest and woodlands.
Weed Status :Heated leaves also used for headache. Preparation from pulped leaves and stems used as a cure for sores and ulcers. Infusion from small roots applied to prickly heat and chicken pox.
