Growth Habit :Large spreading tree, 10-30m high, with a weeping habit.
Fruiting Season :Mainly May to October.
Description :This tree is an indicator of the presence of a high water table.Major source of honey and pollen for bees and birds. The wood contains silica which blunts saws, has been used for house stumps and fence posts.
Distribution :Northern Australia extending south in eastern Queensland to Maryborough, along fresh water streams and in seasonally wet areas.
Weed Status :The leaves have been used as a decongest and inhalant, and also as a liniment, cough medicine and to flavour cooking.
