Growth Habit :Tussock-forming, grass-like plant, in clumps 50-150cm tall.
Fruiting Season :Summer.
Description :Erosion is inhibited by the plants extensive root system. Raw leaf bases are edible, with a taste like fresh green peas, but is suspected of poisoning stock and causing a type of paralysis.
Distribution :Common local species. Coastal and sub-coastal areas from Cape York to Tasmania also S.A. Found along creek banks, rocky hillsides, cliffs and open forest.
