Growth Habit :Perennial prostrate shrub with slender trailing stems and a woody rootstock, deciduous.
Fruiting Season :Mainly May to August.
Description :Important plant for beachfront sand stabilisation. The fleshy taproot is edible when cooked but is purgative and diruretic. Heated leaves applied to treat marine stings, catfish and stingray wounds, spider bites, boils, scores, and muscular aches.
Distribution :Coastal regions of northern Australia extending down to northern N.S.W., usually found on coastal dunes.
