Description : | Common. Body 75cm ; Tail 76cm ; Weight 12-20kg. Upper body, dark red-brown to black. Solitary, but will form feeding groups. Eats a wide range of vegetation, pine seedlings, bracken fern to hemlock, prefers shrubs and bushes rather than grass. |
Typical Habitat : | Open forest with brush understorey, dry vine thickets in N.Q., brigalow scrub in south QLD. |
Distribution : | Patchy distribution in a broad coastal belt [west of the Dividing Range], from Cape York to south western Victoria. |
