Description :Body 67cm. Tail 1.5 times longer. Yellow to dark brown with bands of light and dark spots, except tip of tail, belly has dark flecks. Stands on hind legs and tail. Eats birds, carrion, mammals, insects and reptiles.
Typical Habitat :Shelters in burrows, hollow logs and ground litter. Coastal forest, dry forest, woodland and desert.
Distribution :Mainland Australia, except coastal strip from mid coast N.S.W. clockwise to the Eyre Peninsula and Stirling Range W.A.
