Description :Rare to local area. Length 16cm. Male slightly smaller. Eats seeds and insects. Nest are cup shaped on the ground near tussock or shrub, with around 4 eggs.
Typical Habitat :Grassland.
Distribution :Common to northern and eastern Australia. Endemic, only recorded in Australia.
Migration :Vagrant / nomadic / non breeding in local area. Main breeding season, September to June, variable.
