Description :Length 60cm. Brown with a dark wash between scales. Head and neck, a distinctive dark brown to black ' Hood ', with a light brown stripe along the side of head. Sometimes with a narrow black stripe along back. Dangerous, venom unknown.
Typical Habitat :Eats frogs, lizards, reptile eggs and mammals. Nocturnal, ground dwelling snake, live bearer with up to 7 young. Open forest to acacia scrub.
Distribution :Eastern W.A. to western slopes of Great Dividing Range. Drier parts of QLD.
