Description : | Common. Body 55mm ; Tail 40mm ; Forearm 34mm ; Weight 12g ; Black chestnut-brown to grey-brown. Swift, erratic flight, with many deviations to capture prey, such as mosquitos, moths and other bats. Often feeds over water and along watercourses. |
Typical Habitat : | Mangroves, low woodland, open forest and gallery forest. Tree colonies are usually small, but in disused buildings up to 500. Preyed on by Butcherbirds and Pied Currawongs. |
