Description : | Common. Wingspan 60-80cm ; weight 200-500g. A important species for spreading pollen and seeds. Preferred food is eucalypt flowers, will eat leaves, bark, sap and insects. Will raid orchards when preferred food is scarce, but not a serious pest. |
Typical Habitat : | Nomadic, ranging from tropic and temperate climates, mangroves to the dry inland, inland rivers when paperbarks flower and coastal rivers like the Haughton and Upper Herbert. |
Distribution : | From north Victoria anti-clockwise around the coast to mid W.A., with a population on Kangaroo Island S.A. |
