Description :Length 3m. Large head. Light brown or copper or red brown to olive brown, scales with dark edges. Belly cream to salmon, often with orange blotches. Dangerous, ready biter, venom haemotoxic. Eats frogs, goannas, rats and mice. Lays up to 20 eggs.
Typical Habitat :More nocturnal in the north or in hot weather. Open forest to deserts.
Distribution :Mainland Australia except coastal N.S.W. and southern coastal areas.
