Description :Rare. Body 20cm ; Tail 19cm ; Weight 180g ; Fur grey with bottle-brush tail. Nocturnal. Arboreal. Eats insects, spiders, nectar, occasionally small vertebrates and poultry. Males die after mating in the winter.
Typical Habitat :Dry eucalypt forest to rainforest. Prefers open forest with sparse ground cover.
Distribution :Northern W.A. and N.T. ; Cape York to Vic., S.A. border.
