Description :Common local species. Length 65cm. Co-operatively fishes with Pelicans. Eats fish and crustaceans. Like all Cormorants, they are fishing birds with wings that get waterlogged, which they spread to dry.
Typical Habitat :Most estuarine and inland aquatic habitats.
Distribution :Common Australia wide.
Migration :Resident / breeding. Found on Magnetic Island, Many Peaks Range, Ross Creek, on sandbanks at the mouth of Ross River and Barratta Creek near Ayr. Main breeding season, September to December and February to March, variable.
