Description :Rare. Body 21cm ; Tail 27cm ; Weight 230g. Soft grey with black stripe on head and body. Nocturnal, lives in groups that nest in leaf-lined tree hollows. Feeds on insects [beetles and caterpillars], acacia gum, sap of certain eucalypts, nectar and pollen.
Typical Habitat :South eastern Australia, dry sclerophyll forest and woodland. Northern N.S.W. and QLD. in coastal forest and rainforest margins.
Distribution :From Ingham, eastern N.S.W. to mid Victoria.
