Description : | Common. Body 15cm ; Tail 19cm ; Weight 90g. Upper body, soft grey with black stripe on head and body. Can glide for 50m by membranes which extends from the wrist to the ankles. Nocturnal, Lives in groups of up to 10, nesting in tree hollows. |
Typical Habitat : | Highland and lowland rainforest, woodland, eucalypt forest and mangroves. Feeds on wattle and eucalypt saps, nectar, pollen and insects. Preyed upon by owls, kookaburras, goannas, foxes and cats. |
Distribution : | Broad coastal belt, clockwise from Derby W.A. to Adelaide including Tasmania. |
