Description :Length 2.6m. Light to black brown, paler on sides and head, pale to white snout. Belly cream to yellow, sometimes with orange to pink spots and blotches. Large head distinct to neck. Uncommon in Townsville area.
Typical Habitat :Most dangerous land snake in the world. Ready biter, venom neurotoxic, myotoxic and coagulant. Open, wet and dry forest, woodland and grassy beach dunes. Eats mammals, mice, rats and bandicoots. Lays up to 20 eggs.
Distribution :Kimberley area W.A., Top End N.T. and coastal strip from Cape York to Byron Bay.
