Description : | Length 5m. Iridescent green, grey or brown, with dark brown or black irregular and broken bands. Scales on head have a dark wash between them, belly is light grey to green grey. Not dangerous, but ready biter. |
Typical Habitat : | Largest Australian snake, with a recorded specimen of 8.5m. Found in a wide range of habitats from rainforest, open savannah to scrubby vegetation on coral cays. Eats bandicoots, wallabies and birds (domestic chickens). Lays up to 12 eggs. |
