Description :Body 55mm. Dark brown, grey or dark olive with numerous dark blotches, belly white, has short limbs. Mating call is a series of single sharp 'plonks'. Eggs are laid in a foam nest which floats on water, under the cover of overhanging vegetation.
Typical Habitat :Open forest, woodland and grassland near temporary or permanent waterholes.
Distribution :Cape York along the coast to Rockhampton, Top End of N.T. and north of the King Leopold Ranges of W.A.
