Description : | Uncommon local species. Length 55cm. Mainly nocturnal. Call is higher and harsher than the Bush Stone-curlew. Only found on rarely disturbed beaches in the Townsville area. |
Typical Habitat : | Beaches, reefs and coastal mud flats. |
Distribution : | Vulnerable, with a patchy distribution to north and east coast. |
Migration : | Resident / breeding. Main breeding season, September to December. |
