Description :Uncommon local species. Length 55cm. Mainly nocturnal. Call is higher and harsher than the Bush Stone-curlew. Only found on rarely disturbed beaches in the Townsville area.
Typical Habitat :Beaches, reefs and coastal mud flats.
Distribution :Vulnerable, with a patchy distribution to north and east coast.
Migration :Resident / breeding. Main breeding season, September to December.
Introduced :No
