Description : | Uncommon local species. Length 137cm. Wingspan 200cm. Seldom calls, clappers with bill. Eats small mammals, insects, fish, reptiles and carrion. Lays 2 to 4 eggs in nests made of stick and reed platforms in trees or on the ground near water. |
Typical Habitat : | Swamps, river pools and intertidal flats. |
Distribution : | Locally common to northern Australia and eastern QLD. |
Migration : | Resident / nomad, breeding. Blakey's Crossing. Main breeding season, March to July. |
