Description :Rare. Length 3m. Grey or olive-brown above, with irregular darker mottling. Snout is smooth, long and slender. Eats fish,frogs,crustaceans,birds,small mammals and reptiles.Lays about 20 eggs at the end of the dry season.Active by day and forages at night.
Typical Habitat :Permanent freshwater rivers, lagoons and billabongs.
Distribution :Coast and hinterland of northern and north-eastern Australia.
