Typical Habitat :Dense grassland in or near open forest margins.
Distribution :Common to eastern QLD., eastern N.S.W., VIC., TAS., northern and south western W.A. Subspecies ypsilophora and australis are endemic, only recorded in Australia.
Migration :Resident / breeding. Main breeding season, September to April, variable.
