Description :Rare to local area. Length 61cm. Male is much smaller. Harriers have long wings, legs and tails, their owl like face, indicates that they use sound to locate their prey (small mammals, rabbits and water birds). The only tree nesting Harrier in the world.
Typical Habitat :Open grassland, melaleuca woodland and crops.
Distribution :Common Australia wide, except TAS.
Migration :Vagrant / nomadic. Unknown if it breeds locally. Main breeding season, May to November.
