Description :Length 2.5m. Light to dark brown, lighter on the sides, with darker cross bands. Belly cream to yellow. Head, neck and throat, shiny black. Not dangerous, but ready biter. Eats reptiles (including venomous snakes), birds and mammals. Lays up to 11 eggs.
Typical Habitat :Nocturnal. Coastal forest, woodlands and arid interior.
Distribution :Drier parts of tropical Australia.
