Description :Uncommon local species. Length 100cm. Female smaller. Nomadic omnivores. In it's courtship display, the male inflates it's throat sac while making a guttural roaring call. Up to two eggs are laid in a ground scrape.
Typical Habitat :Open grassland, grassy woodland and crops.
Distribution :Uncommon Australia wide, except parts of N.S.W., VIC. and TAS.
Migration :Resident / breeding. Main breeding season, October to January, variable.
Introduced :No
