    Multicultural officers and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander officers. The Role of the Cross Cultural Officer is to provide trust and understanding through their role by assisting the community and Police to:

    • Reduce and prevent crime
    • Divert people from the criminal justice system
    • Advise and educate police on cultural issues
    • Improve community knowledge of Law and Order issues and policing services
    • Liaise between police department, Indigenous and other ethnic cultures

    Police Liaison Officers are attached to the following stations and can be contacted via those stations:

    • Townsville City Station
    • Kirwan Police Station
