Description : | Rare. Length 75cm. Distinctive alternate black and white bands. Reluctant biter, venom weakly toxic. Nocturnal, burrowing snake, preys on blind snakes. Lays up to 13 eggs. When alarmed, shapes it's body into one or more loops held high off the ground. |
Typical Habitat : | Open forest, savannah, mallee, mulga, scrub to desert sandhills. |
Distribution : | Northern and eastern mainland Australia, except southern Victoria. |
