Description : | Rare, more common in the south. Body 70cm ; Weight 6kg. Larger in southern states. Arboreal and mainly nocturnal. Is usually inactive for 20 hours a day, which is part of the digestion process of eucalypt leaves. |
Typical Habitat : | The Koala feeds almost entirely on eucalypt leaves. In the south, the preferred species are E. viminalis, E. ovata and E. punctata, while E. camaldulensis and E. tereticornis , E. microcorys and E. punctata are important in the north. |
