Description : | Introduced. Common. Body 40cm ; Weight 1.5kg ; Fur usually brown with a reddish neck. Grazing animal which prefers green grass and herbs, also eats bark, leaves and roots. Population is keeped in checked by foxes,cats,myxomatosis and climatic variability. |
Typical Habitat : | Arid, subalpine to along roads deep in rainforest. Has displaced many native animals and changed the composition of plant communities. |
Distribution : | Most of mainland Australia. Slowly making it's way northwards, along the cool highlands in QLD. |
