Screengrab International Media Arts Award is now in its sixth year, and has again attracted entries from around the globe to compete for the major AU$10,000 Media Arts Prize. In total, 200 international applications were initially received, which were shortlisted to 40 finalist works.

2014 is the first year that the exhibition has been jointly presented by James Cook University’s Arts and Creative Media program, and Pinnacles Gallery. This momentous partnership has seen an increase in prize money on offer, the development of a significant publication of finalists’ works, and the presentation of finalists works across two sites; Pinnacles Gallery , and the eMerge Gallery at James Cook University.
